In a world where everything is instant, crafting bagpipes takes time. In a world where everything is increasingly superficial, making bagpipes is always meaningful. Just like a fine bourbon, both require patience and dedication to create something truly special. We are proud to support our neighbors at Olde Raleigh Distillery for the release of Batch 14. Cheers to the artistry and craftsmanship that bring us together! Happy Birthday, Johnny 🥃

Today is #TartanDay -- we thought it appropriate to discuss Roddy and the busiess tartan. Roderick MacLellan, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, was born in Scotland and emigrated to the USA in 1980. He started making bagpipes in 1991 as a hobby and eventually founded MacLellan Bagpipes in 1995. His instruments are one of a kind and are sought by expert players throughout the world. This tartan was created by and named after Mr. MacLellan’s daughters 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗞𝗼𝘁𝗮 who have become involved in the business in recent years. A simple, bold design with elegant colours was chosen to reflect the sophisticated approach to style that has been established at MacLellan Bagpipes and has propelled them to the forefront of modern bagpipe artistry. The TK MacLellan & Co. tartan is officially registered with the The Scottish Register of Tartans.
