Earlier this month, I had the unique opportunity to travel to Rome, Italy and Athens, Greece with my son's college soccer team. While we had a fantastic time doing lots of fun soccer-related activities, I also found myself admiring all of the incredible ancient architecture, especially the roofs. Yes, I am not embarrassed to say that I am a bit of a roof geek. Engineered Systems is fortunate to be the representative for Ludowici Roof Tile here in Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Ludowici even sells mission roof tile systems called Roman, Italia, and Greek. They are beautiful and modeled after the roof systems that have been performing in Europe for centuries! From the Roman Forum, to the Vatican, to churches in downtown Athens, to renderings of the Parthenon in the Acropolis Museum, to the island of Hydra, you will find spectacular clay tile roof systems all over the place. Asphalt shingle roofs are the norm here in America. Clay tile roofs are the norm in Italy and Greece. While visiting Europe with the family this summer I'm always amazed to see centuries of performing building materials and craftsmanship. Not surprised to find Languedocienne tiles from TERREAL ready to be installed on some very old churches around my home town!
