🔬❤️ This Heart Month, we’re spotlighting groundbreaking research at the Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center’s Basic Science and Engineering (BASE) Initiative! In 2023, Xiaojie Qiu, PhD, joined BASE at Stanford—a one-of-a-kind program dedicated to understanding and ultimately curing congenital heart disease (CHD). Using single-cell genomics and machine learning, Dr. Qiu is creating a detailed cellular map of the heart to pinpoint where and when heart disease develops. And there’s more exciting news—since this article was published, Dr. Qiu was awarded the prestigious NIH Director’s New Innovator Award and his research was published in Cell Magazine. Nature Magazine even called his work “breakthrough science.” 🏆👏 Click the link below to learn more about how this research is shaping the future of CHD treatment. #HeartMonth #CHDResearch #PediatricHeartAwareness https://lnkd.in/gnNuiAsd

Ten years of innovation, impact, and hope for patients with allergies and asthma. 💙🙌 “Providing hope and promise to patients with allergies and asthma is the driving force behind everything we do,” says Sharon Chinthrajah, MD, the Parker Center’s Co-Director. This month, we mark the tenth anniversary of the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University. 🎉 From groundbreaking basic science research to clinical trials and community initiatives, each day brings the Center’s multidisciplinary experts closer to the goal of finding better treatments—and, ultimately, a cure. “The team has taken powerful steps toward understanding our complex immune mechanisms,” says philanthropist Sean Parker, “and I look forward to the day when immunotherapy for allergies and asthma is the standard of care.” Link to read more: https://lnkd.in/gF6747-X

✨Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Ndidi Unaka ✨At Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, Dr. Ndidi Unaka is leading the charge to make world-class maternal and pediatric health care accessible for all families in our community. She is deeply committed to ensuring every mother and child has a chance to reach their health potential. At the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, we know that philanthropy has the power to transform health for all kids and moms. We were honored to feature Dr. Unaka at a recent event for members of our Lucile Salter Packer Society—which celebrates donors who have included the hospital in their will or estate plan—where she shared the importance of closing gaps in care and innovating to create a health care system that works for all. Dr. Unaka’s dedication is an inspiration, and we are grateful for her leadership, vision, and partnership in creating a healthier future for all children and families.💙
