Lero Director Elected to Prestigious Academia Europaea Professor Lionel Briand, Director of Lero – the Research Ireland Centre for Software has been elected to the Academia Europaea, one of Europe’s most prestigious scholarly academies. This recognition highlights Lero’s leadership in world-class software research. With only 51 members from Ireland, and just two ever elected in the Informatics section, this honour underscores Professor Briand’s international impact in the field. Notably, the only other Irish-based member in this section is Professor Mike Hinchey, also from Lero and the University of Limerick. The Academia Europaea, founded by the Royal Society and other national academies in 1988, brings together 6,000 distinguished scholars across disciplines from across Europe and beyond. #AcademiaEuropaea #AI #software #UL #ResearchIreland Lero, Lionel Briand
