Most companies talk about mission, but at Anduril Industries, it’s more than words. It's the filter. Their latest video flips the script on recruiting and highlights all the reasons "not" to work there. - No nap pods or remote lounging - A founder obsessed with subterranean warfare - Mission obsessed The message? If you’re not aligned with the mission, you won’t last. And that’s the point. When an organization is clear on its purpose, everything changes. The right people show up. The wrong ones self-select out. A strong mission isn’t a tagline. It’s a test. #brand #marketing #defense Jeff Miller

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 1 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀 … …or so I’ve been told by people in less "sexy" companies. But if that’s true, why do people follow visionaries? Why do they rally behind companies that redefine what’s possible? Palmer Luckey, founder of Anduril Industries, recently said on The Shawn Ryan Show that smart kids have avoided manufacturing because they don’t see a future. And this hasn't become just a manufacturing problem. It’s an 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺, a 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺, and a 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺. If people don’t see something worth believing in, they walk away. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲. Talent follows 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. Capital follows 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Customers buy into 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Leaders being inspirational isn't some fluffy marketing tactic. Companies must embed vision into everything—from their mission to messaging. Because if your company doesn’t stand for something bigger, why should anyone care?

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀. 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. The numbers tell the truth. Women control $31.8 trillion in global spending, and Formula 1 captures 300 million female viewers. The math works. Independent ventures like Two Girls 1 Formula generated $100,000 in revenue by addressing gaps in official team merchandise. The market exposes limitations in current offerings. Helena Hicks, founder of Females in Motorsport, notes team merchandise remains "male heavy" with limited options for women. Sherry Ma's trajectory from business student to F1 fashion entrepreneur represents market correction in action. Her insight—that female fans seek statement pieces for race weekends rather than standard team merchandise—highlights the gap between traditional motorsport retail and contemporary consumer demands. And then, there's the beauty sector, which leads F1's commercial metamorphosis, transforming sponsorship models through what I'm calling "mascara money" - the intersection of cosmetics capital and motorsport marketing. This evolution mirrors F1's dramatic demographic shift, with Nielsen Sports data confirming over 300 million female fans worldwide and women comprising 41% of the global fanbase. Most notably, the fastest-growing segment comprises women aged 16-24, representing a seismic shift in the sport's cultural positioning. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨— but made them 10x more effective? Decades of hands-on expertise in manufacturing are now colliding with the relentless push of a digital-first world. The challenge is to adopt tech while preserving what made these companies great—without losing efficiency, agility, or resilience. Too often, digital transformation is framed as an all-or-nothing overhaul. But the real game-changers are small, strategic shifts. Take 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲—a smart, gradual approach. Instead of waiting for a machine to fail (or over-maintaining it on strict schedules), AI-driven analytics predict breakdowns before they happen. This isn’t about replacing people—it’s about 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. Or 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀—virtual replicas of physical operations. Companies like Porsche AG and Schuler Group use them to test changes before implementation, reducing costs and increasing flexibility. And there's 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, a painful lesson from pandemic disruptions. Cloud-based systems and AI-powered forecasting help manufacturers predict demand, optimize inventory, and avoid stockouts and bloated warehouses. The best transformations 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩—they blend what works with what’s next. What’s one AI-driven tweak (or any small, actionable move) that’s unlocking real progress in your business? "𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻." For the past 10 years, I've heard my wife say this to me. So when she writes it on CNBC, you know it's legit. I am so proud to be able to watch Amy Landino do her thing day in and day out, not only as an entrepreneur but also as a wife, mom, daughter, and friend. She shows up 100%. Her clients know this, too. When you work with Amy, you get 100%. The headline of this CNBC article only highlights her passive revenue streams, but she does so much more: speaking (all over the world), has written three books, and is the best 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 (if you want to build a better personal brand, you should work with her 😉 ) Keep up the amazing work, babe ♥️

"When my coaching clients tell me they’re waiting for the 'right time' or holding off until their idea is 'perfect,' I know what they’re really saying: They’re scared to start," writes Amy Landino in her latest piece for CNBC Make It. The biggest mistake Amy sees people make is waiting for the perfect idea and "letting perfectionism and fear hold them back." Here's what she's learned and shared with clients "about breaking through hesitation, perfectionism, and fear to build a thriving business and sustainable passive income." 👇

Honored to see bizofspeed.com quoted in Bloomberg's latest coverage of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix 🙏🏻 Formula 1's success in Vegas hinges on solving the accessibility problem: keeping the exclusive aspiration while becoming inclusive where it matters. Quick reminder of last year's numbers: 🏟️ 300,000+ in attendance 💲884 million in fan spending (3.6x a typical Vegas visitor) 💰 $1.5 billion in economic impact Thank you Hannah Elliott for the feature! Looking forward to being in and around the paddock this year. If you're in town, let's get together! I’m excited to be headed to the Las Vegas Grand Prix this year. This is a race I've covered quite extensively over on Business of Speed (bizofspeed.com) from before it was even on the calendar. And it got me thinking about how the real story isn't about whether Vegas should host F1. It's about how Vegas fundamentally changed what an F1 race weekend could be. So I wrote ~700 words about it 👉 https://lnkd.in/eB3nzCKn If you're in town for the race (or otherwise), I'd love to meet up anytime I can step away from the paddock and other action. Drop me a DM.

Anyone remember World's Fairs? (I don't, but they always seemed cool af) That collective "wow" that used to define them? Maybe it's time to bring that back. Not just the expos themselves, but the spirit behind them - the belief that humanity's greatest achievements come from showing off to each other in the most ambitious ways possible This is Part 1 in my two-part series (linked in comments below). To be continued in Part 2: How America's 250th Birthday Could Reignite the World's Fair Spirit.
