This week KCE's own Phil Denara joined the Alliance for Clean Energy New York's #PluggingIn podcast to discuss KCE's operating projects in New York, #batteryenergystorage safety across the state and the critical role battery energy storage will play in the future!

Today, KCE is proud to announce the commercial operations of two 100MW battery energy storage projects in Texas and the transfer of the investment tax credits (ITCs) for both projects to a third party. Earlier this month the KCE team gathered in Houston for our annual meeting and holiday party. We also spent a morning volunteering at the Houston Food Bank and building bikes for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. From our entire team, we hope everyone has a great holiday season with loved ones!

Yesterday Key Capture Energy along with the Long Island Power Authority announced contracts for two #BatteryEnergyStorage projects in Suffolk County, New York. Battery energy storage will support a clean and reliable electric grid across Long Island. As LIPA's Acting CEO John Rhodes said, "Integrating storage in the electric grid, especially in areas with high energy demand, will allow clean energy to be available when and where it is most needed." Earlier this year the Financial Times visited Texas to understand the role that #batteryenergystorage is playing in stabilizing the Texas grid and facilitating the expansion of renewable energy across the state. KCE attended the inaugural #BatterySummit hosted by Energy-Storage.news this past week in San Diego and several members of our Asset Operations team joined panels to discuss today's challenges and the future of the industry. Erika Nelson, KCE's Director of Project Operations, Christian Hofer, VP of Market Operations, Todd Beeby, Director of Performance Engineering, and Colin Tareila, our EVP of Asset Operations, all shared their experiences, insights and perspectives. This week KCE's General Counsel and EVP of Regulatory Affairs Rachel Goldwasser moderated a panel at the GridTECH Connect Forum Northeast focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the #EnergyStorage industry across the region. Poojan Parekh, KCE's Manager of Algorithmic Trading, also joined a panel at Energy Trading Week America's conference in Houston to discuss strategies to optimize #BatteryStorage revenues.

The KCE Asset Operations team met in our Albany Office last week for a safety training tabletop exercise, 2025 planning and were able to get outside and enjoy the fall colors for an afternoon!

The KCE team was well represented at conferences across the country this week! In Boulder, CO the team attended the Ascend Analytics conference with KCE's EVP of Commercial & Technology Joel Vyduna joining a panel to discuss recent developments and future expectations across the M&A landscape. Shanay Kapadia, Senior Performance Engineer, presented on best practices in battery technology at the American Clean Power Association (ACP) Resource & Technology conference in Phoenix, AZ.

Last week several members of Key Capture's Houston Office and market operations team participated in the annual Dragon Boat Team Challenge to benefit the YMCA of Greater Houston. It was a day full of activities including dodgeball, human foosball, lawn games and of course a boat race. We're already looking forward to next year!
