In honor of International Women’s Day, I had the privilege of joining colleagues, clients, and partners at the Mercado Global Fashion Forward Gala last Thursday. It was an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and a shared commitment to empowering women artisans in Guatemala. This year, we proudly honored Madeleine Sinclair, Fernando Garcia, Julia Kisla Taylor and Mona Patel—leaders who embody resilience, creativity, and the power of giving back. A special thank you to Juniper Square for being a sponsor and to all the firms and individuals who supported this incredible cause. Your generosity is making a tangible difference. It’s not too late to get involved! If you’d like to learn more about Mercado Global’s mission and ways to support, send me a note—I’d be delighted to share more. #FashionForwardGala #InternationalWomensDay #Empowerment #MercadoGlobal #WomenSupportingWomen

  • This Women’s History Month,  we’re celebrating the women shaping private markets—leaders who are driving change by showing up as their authentic selves. Ilene Goldfine, Chief Digital Strategy Officer at Hines, has seen firsthand how authenticity fosters diversity in private markets. She believes that real progress happens when we listen, learn, and engage with people whose experiences differ from our own. Read her perspective—alongside insights from other inspiring women—on our blog. Link in comments.

    • "We need to learn from other people who don't look like us, who don't sound like us, who don't come from the same background. The way to effectuate change is talking to people about who they are."

Spent the day yesterday with our sales team in Salt Lake City celebrating the incredible year they just posted, and looking ahead to all that is coming for our team and our customers this year. A few highlights and observations: * Sales is a process, not an outcome. You become a great seller by learning to love the process, and by getting incrementally better each and every day. "Real lions love to hunt, they love the process just as much as they love the prize." * Sales is about listening to the customer--really listening to them, with curiosity, with a goal of deeply understanding their needs, and then matching those needs to our solutions. It's not about bamboozling the customer or being slick or convincing. It's about listening and curiosity and empathy. * We have an amazing group of sellers and GTM professionals, and the results they delivered -- 130% of target last year -- speak for themselves. It was an honor to get to congratulate so many on their performance, with photos here of just a handful of the award winners last night. * We have a huge year of product and service innovation ahead for our customers in 2025. If we did 130% with last year's product set, I can't wait to see what the team does this year. I'm honored and humbled to get to work with such an amazing team, and can't wait to see what we'll be celebrating in February 2026!
