#Investcorp’s India team hosted its Annual Investor Day on March 10 in Mumbai, uniting industry leaders, investors, and our portfolio companies to explore India’s evolving economic landscape and investment opportunities. The event kicked off with a keynote by Gaurav Sharma, Head of India Investments, who provided an in-depth analysis of India's macroeconomic trends, investment landscape, and key growth drivers. Our portfolio companies, Wakefit, InsuranceDekho, and Canpac, shared their success stories, growth trajectories, and how they are reshaping their industries, followed by two panel discussions: - Technology & AI: Experts from Investcorp and NuSummit delved into the disruptive impact of AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. - Opportunities in Quick Commerce: Leaders from XpressBees, Safari, and Global Dental Services discussed the explosive growth of quick commerce, shifting consumer behaviors, and market potential. The event concluded with a presentation by Dr. Janmejaya Sinha, Chairman of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) India, who spoke about the compelling vision of India’s economic future. By 2030, India is projected to become a $7 trillion economy, driven by digital adoption, entrepreneurship, and strategic investments.

"“It's critical to be local. You must be plugged into the framework and part of the social fabric; that’s what partners looking to deploy capital from outside seek. We were among the early pioneers in the region, and having gone through decades of deploying capital and monetizing portfolios, it’s fair to say the market has evolved significantly. Today, the GCC region presents a very attractive set of opportunities to investors, due to the economic diversification agenda, the fact that the currency is pegged to the US Dollar, so volatility is low, and the emergence of small to mid-sized businesses. With more SMEs being formed looking for capital from external investors, the opportunities to invest and exit are higher. This is a big evolution that we’ve seen, and a core driver of investment activity.”
