The Switchgear Committee is one of seventeen Standards Developing Technical Committees of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES). The Committee is comprised of technical and managerial representatives from manufacturers, consultants, vendors and end-users of electrical switchgear & components. One of the Committee's responsibilities is to produce and maintain documents contained in the IEEE C37 Standards Collection. The Committee's standards work provides a crucial service to society's need for continuing development and maintenance of a reliable, safe and efficient power system infrastructure. CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS AND PANEL TOPICS IEEE PES Switchgear Committee is seeking presentation proposals (30 or 60 minutes in length) and panel topics (90 minutes) for our October 16, 2024 meeting in Oklahoma City, OK. Proposals should address the topic’s impact on Power distribution systems and/or Switching / protection equipment. Preference will be given to proposals which highlight innovative technologies, novel applications, resilience, decarbonization, or decentralization. Meeting attendees include Utility engineers, manufacturers, test lab, and consultants. Important Dates: - Proposal submission – May 17 - Proposal notification – July 15 - Presentation submission – Sept 16 Format of the proposal - Maximum of two pages in Word or PDF format should be submitted by the prospective Tutorial speaker(s). proposal submission must include the following: - Title - Name, affiliation, and e-mail of speaker - Abstract (maximum 200 words) - Description of the proposal - Presentation or Panel format - Included content, indicating the topics that will be covered in detail - Length: Maximum length of 30, 60, or 90 minutes - Intended audience - Prior history of the presentations and number of past attendees, if applicable - Short biography (paragraph) of speaker All proposals send to [email protected] Switchgear committee website: https://lnkd.in/drHzXJkK
