HOS is making a comeback! Significant changes are on the horizon for Health Outcomes Survey (HOS) measures and their impact on Star Ratings: - HOS Measures: The measures for Improving or Maintaining Physical Health and Improving or Maintaining Mental Health will ramp up to a 3x weight beginning in measurement year 2025! - Future Direction: CMS remains committed to capturing members' views on their overall mental and physical health. Watch for potential additions, like Physical Function of Daily Activities (PFADL), to the HOS measurements in the future. - Social Need Screening & Health Equity: With the introduction of Social Need Screening and Intervention (SNS-E) and the Health Equity Index (HEI) in 2024, the spotlight is on addressing social determinants of health (SDoH) and focusing on the most vulnerable members. This makes a robust HOS strategy more important than ever! - Icario's Role: At Icario, we design programs to enhance and transform members' perceptions of their mental and physical health and our initiatives have seen double-digit engagement.
