We're excited to share our latest Healogix Healthcare Consumer Pulse survey! This month, we explored how U.S. women experience menstrual and pelvic pain and what their journeys with endometriosis reveal about persistent gaps in women's health. 💡 Key findings from our study (N=174 U.S.-based individuals who have experienced menstruation): 1️⃣ 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄: Most have heard of endometriosis; however, fewer than 1 in 5 are highly familiar with it. 2️⃣ 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿: Across diagnostic groups, women commonly assumed their pain was normal because others told them so. This belief is most entrenched among the undiagnosed, making normalization itself a barrier to care. 3️⃣ 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻: Most women who suspect they have endometriosis remain undiagnosed, pointing to barriers that go well beyond awareness. 4️⃣ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗖𝗣 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: When describing conversations about pelvic pain with providers, dismissal and minimization were the most frequently reported experiences. 🌱 The takeaway for pharma and device companies: the "it's just cramps" narrative is doing more to suppress care-seeking than any knowledge gap. Brands that challenge normalization, build HCP capability, and empower patients to self-advocate are best positioned to make a difference. 📚 Follow James Dunlea, Ph.D. (SVP, Head of Behavioral Science), Halloran (Hallie) Cope, MHCI (Vice President), John Thorp, Ph.D. (Director, Behavioral Science), or Healogix to stay connected. #WomensHealth #Endometriosis #PelvicPain #HealthcareMarketing #BehavioralScience #ConsumerInsights #Pharma

Today marks the close of Endometriosis Awareness Month, bringing attention to a complex disease that affects an estimated 190 million women globally, or nearly 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. Earlier this month, Healogix fielded a U.S. consumer survey among women ages 18–45 to better understand the lived experience of endometriosis, from diagnostic delay and gaps in care to its broader impact on work, relationships, and quality of life. We’re excited to share our paper, 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴: 𝘈𝘯 𝘈𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 written by Halloran (Hallie) Cope, MHCI Cope, which brings together historical clinical context, emerging policy momentum, and Healogix’s patient‑reported insights to highlight where the system has fallen short and where progress in diagnosis, treatment, and policy is beginning to take shape. Endometriosis is common, serious, and costly. The data are clear. The question now is whether healthcare and policy systems will respond with the urgency this condition deserves. #endometriosisawarenessmonth #womenshealth #patientexperience #healthcareinsights

𝗔 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 The pharmaceutical industry is placing increasing emphasis on incorporating the patient perspective earlier in development—and for good reason. Patients today are more informed and engaged in their care than ever before, driven by widespread access to digital health information via websites and apps, social media, AI-enabled tools, wearables, and online communities. By systematically capturing and integrating patient insights early, pharmaceutical companies can meaningfully improve patient experiences, clinical relevance, and ultimately, treatment adoption across the care continuum. Patient journey research plays a pivotal role in clinical trial and commercial development strategy. 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹: 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 Early journey insights help manufacturers identify endpoints that are meaningful to both patients and healthcare professionals, while recognizing that definitions of “improvement” may differ.
