About us

Accepting investments now! Check out our campaign page here: https://investHarmonyTurbines.com Tinkerer, out-of-the-box thinker, inventor and entrepreneur, Christopher Moore has been involved in Clean Energy research since the late 1990's. For most of his early years he did open source work on his OUPower.com website, sharing everything he was working on openly with the world. In 2017 Chris shifted gears and began the process of patenting his wind turbine technology. He founded Harmony Turbines Inc in August 2020 continuing the previous R&D work and patent filings. In June 2022, Chris's wife, Cheryl, joined him full-time at Harmony Turbines in an effort to help towards the final push through prototyping and producing test and beta units. At Harmony Turbines, we believe in transparency in our efforts, successes and struggles, therefore our project updates are honest, sometimes silly and sometimes raw. We hope you will continue following our journey as we make our way through development and testing and eventually into production. We are Developing Next Generation Residential and Small Scale Wind Turbine Systems for a better tomorrow! Beautiful, functional and affordable. • Harmony Turbines: Doing the work of the devil?!? Did you know humans have been using wind energy for thousands of years? Beginning as early as 5,000 B.C. wind was helping people with things such as propelling boats, pumping water, and grinding grain.  https://lnkd.in/dC__ZSYc In 1854, Daniel Halladay revolutionized wind power by patenting the first commercially successful self-governing windmill. His innovative design not only allowed the windmill to automatically adjust to changing wind directions, but also regulated its speed to protect against high winds. Learn more about Halladay’s invention here: https://lnkd.in/diwMzMzg Just a few decades later, in 1887 Professor James Blyth in Scotland created what many believe to be the world’s first wind turbine to generate electricity. Standing 10 meters tall and made from cloth and sails, Blyth’s turbine charged accumulators (primitive batteries) that powered the lighting in his holiday home. He even offered to share the electricity with people in his town, though they feared it might be the work of the devil and denied the offer. Read more on this fascinating story here: https://lnkd.in/d2W-yMBZ A year later in 1888, inventor Charles F. Brush took wind energy to the next level by designing the world’s first automatically operating wind turbine. His 56 foot tall turbine, with 144 cedar wood blades, generated enough electricity to power his mansion, several homes nearby, and even the streetlights of downtown Cleveland. Brush’s turbine was designed to automatically turn into the wind using a balanced system of weights and levers. Discover more about Brush’s turbine here: https://lnkd.in/dH2N6_2x These early inventions, while not really “the work of the devil”, paved the way for today’s wind energy systems, and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in using wind to create clean, renewable energy. Here at Harmony Turbines, we are working to bring yet another innovation to the clean energy sector with our own Savonius style turbines and patented furling system. Some of the key points we hope to capitalize on with our turbines are convenience, aesthetics, features and reliability. If you haven't already considered doing so, we invite you to invest in Harmony Turbines, and be part of something we believe has the potential to impact the global clean energy movement. • Wind Tunnel Excitation! Here at Harmony Turbines, the testing we've been doing in the wind tunnel has brought to light both improvements that needed to be made as well as some very exciting potential upgrades. The improvements will help us to better approximate performance of our turbines at full-scale, and the exciting potential upgrades center around just how profound the performance difference can be with very small adjustments to scoop geometry. Now that we're finally starting to get more consistent, predictable and repeatable results, we have a path forward to the upgrades we can effect to hopefully bring us improved turbine performance in our full-sized models. This update shows some of our recent improvements and discusses just why these improvements are necessary. https://lnkd.in/d3x2WaZA Most companies don't share this part of their R&D process with their community because R&D isn't always successful in the early stages. It can be a slow and painstaking process. It's about finding out what works and what doesn't, and letting that knowledge guide you forward. We embrace this concept here at Harmony and love sharing it with you. We hope you find our journey educational and inspiring, as we share both our successes and our setbacks with you! Thank you for continuing to support us. If you love what we're doing, please help us grow our community by sharing our videos and information with those around you. If you're inclined to support us financially, please consider investing. Not only would it help us continue our research, but it's also how you can become part-owner of this venture! If our developments are successful, we believe there could be potential benefits for our investors! • Cameras, Birdies and Ice, OH MY! Thanks to our new rooftop camera, we're finally able to spy on our ALPHA unit here at Harmony Turbines! Interestingly, we're able to watch how wildlife interacts with Harmony, and thanks to a recent ice storm, we're also able to watch how Harmony was affected by the half inch of ice we got. Remember, this ALPHA unit is just a base model that has no extras on it to help it cope with the ice or snow. https://lnkd.in/dTAQVgVB We are thankful for you, our community. We appreciate your continued interest and support in what we’re doing here at Harmony! If you’d like to be a part of what we’re doing here at Harmony Turbines, please consider joining our efforts. • Storm Demi vs Harmony's ALPHA Unit Last week Storm Demi rolled through Central Pennsylvania and Harmony Turbines experienced its first severe weather this winter season.  While the intensity of this storm doesn't begin to compare to what other areas of the country see during the winter, it did cause hazardous conditions here. This was a good first test for us, as our ALPHA unit is just a base model with no cold-weather measures in place. How did it hold up?  Did it collect copious amounts of snow? Did it still spin? Did it freeze up during our sub-zero wind chills? Cheryl and Chris walk you through the results in this video! https://lnkd.in/dM3z2wDj This is an important update for all the folks who've been wondering how our turbines will hold up to winter weather.  Our winters are fairly mild in Pennsylvania, so our chances to observe any successes or failures in this realm are limited. We will continue sharing our encounters with severe weather as they occur. If you like what we're doing and are interested in investing, please check out our crowdfunding site. You can become a part-owner of Harmony Turbines for as little as $200*. (https://lnkd.in/dYuk-a4j) We're glad you're along for the journey and we're thankful for your support!
