We’re on a mission to unlock more productive and sustainable farming.

About us

We’re on a mission to unlock more productive and sustainable agriculture. Farmers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional farming. They’re growing more grass, increasing milk production and improving the health and well-being of their cows. We bridge deep tech into real-world farming by enabling farmers to remotely shift, virtually fence and proactively monitor their cows’ health and behaviour. We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures. Halter's headquarters are in Auckland, New Zealand.

Running a massive beef, lamb and grain operation with your siblings? It’s not always easy... but for the Coggans, it works! In this ep, we chat with Emily Coggan, Tom Coggan  and Sarah-Jane Coggan about how they’re making bold moves in ag, backing each other, and embracing tech to work smarter, not harder. Three sharp minds, one shared vision, and a whole lot of willingness to try something new! 🎧 This is a story you’ll want to hear: https://lnkd.in/g2aUGnHK

That's a wrap on Halter Horizons 2025! 👏🏻 Last week saw the return of Horizons, winter edition. Vets and consultants from around NZ made their way to Auckland, and we added some epic Australians into the mix this year too! 🪃 Halter Horizons is a 2-day event to chat all things farming. Workshops, breakout groups, the Halter story, an ask-us-anything session, and deep dives into different parts of the product. We wanted everyone who came along to have fun, get to know others in the industry they wouldn't normally cross paths with, and feel armed with more knowledge to help their clients get the most out of Halter. Fingers crossed we ticked all those boxes! ✅ A huge thank you to everyone who attended. We're so privileged to work alongside such a passionate group of people who love to talk farming just as much as we do. 🐄 See ya next year! 👋🏻🌅

Hey! WE'RE HIRING! 107 roles to be exact. If you're ready for something big and are keen on a new challenge, keep reading. (Or just go straight here and apply - https://lnkd.in/gmmNqn4f) We think you’ll love it here because... - You'll make a meaningful impact on the world: Work on tech that is changing an industry, and lives at the same time. Not bragging (kinda bragging), but farmers tell us repeatedly that Halter has been a game changer for them. - We move fast, with max autonomy: We trust our team to own problems, take risks, make mistakes, learn from them, and do it all again the next day. Growth and ownership go hand in hand here. - You'll be surrounded by a lot of big brains: A high-performing, collaborative team, and a culture built on transparency, rapid feedback, and a lot of fun. What do you need to thrive here? It's pretty broad, but things that'll get you started on the right foot (hoof) - an open mind, a lot of drive, tenacity, and the desire to do some really hard, but bloody cool stuff. A lot of epic humans have worked here for more than 5 years, and while they may have an additional grey hair or 2 (start ups am I right?), there's something that keeps them all coming back each day - the desire to build amazing products that help farmers and ranchers around the world. We're so privileged to do what we do. Also, dogs in the office every day. In other words, office heaven. Come and join us!

Such an insightful story out today on Feedstuffs featuring a ranch in the US using Halter. The Magruders share ways that virtual fencing is unlocking new operational practices and efficiencies for them, and chat through their experience with Halter so far. They also discuss how training their animals went, along with the big shared focus on animal welfare. We're so grateful to work with people like Grace and Kyle, and can't wait for more expansion across the US! We’re so excited to announce our 2025 winners of our 1 year free competition! We had over 1100 (!!!) applications from beef and dairy farmers around the country this year (and even a few from countries outside NZ 😅), and they were all amazing. So thorough and thoughtful, and the passion that came through in each one was honestly inspiring to see. And to be frank, we just couldn’t choose only 3 winners. So, we decided to change the rules on ourselves, and have selected 4 deserving winners instead! - Lizzy Wildling: Dairy farmer, South Waikato - Lynley and Matt Wyeth: Sheep and Beef farmers, Wairarapa - Mark and Joanne Stevenson: Sheep and Beef farmers, North Canterbury - Helen and Craig Elliott: Dairy farmers, Canterbury We can’t wait to see what these epic farmers achieve over the next 12 months (and hopefully years to come!). We chose them for a bunch of reasons, but mainly because of the potential they see for their operations and their passion for how they want to use Halter's tech to unlock those gains. Congrats to this year’s winners! 🥳

Agritech unicorn Halter has just cracked a $1B USD valuation—and we’re talking to Andrew Fraser, Halter’s President. From commercial ranches in Wyoming to family dairy farms in the Waikato, Halter’s smart cow collars might just be the future of managing livestock. The “farm operating system” uses sound and vibration for virtual fencing and herding and even monitoring herd health. Andrew dishes on their latest funding round, their strategy for the US beef market, and their Fonterra integration. Find out why farmers say they “can’t imagine farming without Halter”. 📺 https://lnkd.in/gA8Wa4Tp 🍎 https://lnkd.in/gpipE22t 💚 https://lnkd.in/gNGfyfgg Shared Lunch is brought to you by Sharesies.  Appearance on Shared Lunch is not an endorsement by Sharesies of the views of the presenters, guests, or the entities they represent. Craig here. Some exciting news. We’ve closed a Series D funding round, raising NZD$165M // USD$100M to help farmers and ranchers around the world to be more productive and sustainable. 🐄 For such a milestone there is only one fitting place to start. Thank you Halter farmers and ranchers. You have backed us, challenged us, shared feedback and helped shape Halter into what it is today. Your willingness to pioneer a better way to farm is the reason Halter exists and the reason we keep pushing hard. To the Halter crew. What a fun, hard, stressful and epic journey it’s been and will continue to be. Your grit, ambition, commitment to the mission and obsession with our customers is everything. Thank you. We are just getting started. (…and hiring - please join us!) 🙌🏻 A bit of detail. The round was led by BOND, a global tech investment firm, with support from NewView Capital and continued backing from our early investors - Bessemer Venture Partners, DCVC, Blackbird, Icehouse Ventures, Ubiquity Ventures, and Promus Ventures. A big thanks to all our early and new partners. We’re so stoked for the next phase, another level of impact, ambition and scale. (Honestly it was too hard to pick one photo for this moment, so here’s a snippet from my favourites) 📸 Cheers Craig

Head of Customer Support @ Halter

At Halter, we're building a world-class support experience that empowers farmers to do their best work. Our tech is transforming how farming operates and our support team is right at the heart of that change. With rapid growth across regions, more farmers coming on board, and increasing complexity, we’re expanding our team in NZ and launching support operations in the US, which means huge opportunities to help shape how support operates at scale. Support at Halter isn’t your typical customer service role. You’ll go deep on complex products (and animals), building specialist knowledge in key areas of the platform. You’ll join a high-performing, tight-knit crew that values momentum, impact, and doing the right thing for our customers every time. If you love solving real problems, making an impact, and working with great humans - I'd love to chat. 👇 We’re hiring: 🇳🇿 Customer Support Lead – NZ (Auckland) https://lnkd.in/gNf-6HAG 🇺🇸 Customer Support Lead – US (Boulder) https://lnkd.in/gqwpGRCS 🇳🇿 Customer Support Specialists – NZ (Auckland) https://lnkd.in/gCJDAsxp 🇺🇸 Customer Support Specialists – US (Boulder) https://lnkd.in/gaCfWK7f #customersupport #agtech #growth #hiring #halter
