From our facility in Sherman, Texas, we’re producing advanced 300mm silicon wafers — the essential building blocks of every chip — for use in American semiconductor fabs. Exciting news for Texas and the future of AI. Apple just announced a new $100 billion commitment (bringing total U.S. investment to $600 billion over the next four years), and Texas is playing a starring role. Key highlights for Texas and the AI Action Plan include: - Partnering with GlobalWafers America (GWA) in Sherman to produce advanced wafers for U.S.-based semiconductor fabs — a U.S. first. - Collaborating with Applied Materials to boost production of next-gen semiconductor manufacturing equipment in Austin. - Expanding its partnership with Texas Instruments, including support for TI’s new Sherman facility, driving innovation and critical capacity for future products. -Working with Samsung Semiconductor in Austin to launch an innovative new chip process node — the first of its kind globally. This is a huge win for Texas—bringing more jobs, supporting the innovation ecosystem, and reinforcing our leadership in the AI and tech supply chain. (Apple now employs over 13,000 people across Texas, with more jobs and R&D space on the way).
