What sets Freudenberg Medical apart is its deep expertise in materials and technologies combined with deep clinical acumen—and our winning project is a perfect example for this. The award recognizes the groundbreaking work of our Hemoteq AG team in Aachen, who developed a drug-coated balloon (DCB) catheter in close collaboration with one of the world’s leading medical device companies. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, responsible for nearly 30% of all fatalities. This proprietary DCB coating addresses that critical need by treating restricted blood vessels. Our team developed both–the proprietary drug coating formulation and a fully digitally traceable, high-precision coating process to help improve the lives of millions of patients.   Congratulations to everyone involved in this team effort—this is innovation with heart! “No one is left behind.” That simple yet powerful belief guides the mission of Abbeycartron School in Ireland—a school where more than 40% of students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and over 10% have psychological special needs. Since last summer, our team at Freudenberg Medical in Carrick-on-Shannon has been actively engaged with the school supported by the global Freudenberg Group e² initiative. On weekends, employees volunteered their time to help bring two meaningful projects to life: - A sensory room that offers students a safe space to reset and self-regulate.  - A sensory garden, opening soon, designed to support emotional well-being and learning through nature. We’re proud to contribute—not only by funding projects, but by showing up and getting involved. Freudenberg Medical’s Irish sites recently had the honor of welcoming Mohsen Sohi, outgoing CEO of the Freudenberg Group and Claus Möhlenkamp incoming CEO of the Freudenberg Group.   At Freudenberg Medical’s Carrick-on-Shannon and Galway facilities, our teams proudly showcased the expansions both sites have undergone over the past two years — a reflection of our continued growth and commitment to innovation.    During the visits, our guests met with the site leadership teams, saw firsthand the life-saving medical devices being produced at the sites, along with the cutting-edge capabilities that make Freudenberg Medical a partner of choice to its global customers.    We are grateful to Dr. Mohsen Sohi for his inspiring leadership and legacy, and we're excited to welcome Claus Möhlenkamp as we look ahead to the next chapter.
