About us
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry -FBCCI is the apex trade organization of Bangladesh playing a pivotal role in consultative and advisory capacity, safeguarding the interest of the private sector. FBCCIh works to coordinate and promote the interest of its federating units-Chambers of Commerce, Trade and Industrial Association, to aid and stimulate investment, development of trade, commerce, industry, agriculture, tourism, human resources, and communication sectors in Bangladesh, to project, encourage and safeguard the cause of the private sector through effective participation in the process of consultation and interaction with the Government, Ministerial, consultative Committees and other inter-ministerial bodies and agencies, to assist the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Associations in organizing of Trade and Industry Fairs in different parts of Bangladesh, to collect and disseminate statistical and other information for the advancement of trade and industry, to make efforts for the spread of commercial, technical and economic knowledge for promotion of commercial, technical, industrial and scientific education in the country, to study and undertake research for the promotion and growth of trade and industry. The FBCCI is involved in forging strong bilateral ties between and among different countries of the world through counterpart organizations for commercial and economic cooperation. It helps promote Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) including Joint Ventures in Bangladesh and identify appropriate partners, It maintains close relations with Overseas National Chambers of Commerce and other Trade and Industrial Associations including related economic organizations. FBCCI represents the Private Sector in different permanent committees of the Government and autonomous bodies. it also represents the Private Sector in various Committees and Task Forces on specific issues, constituted by the Government from time to time.

A preparatory meeting between the FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Hafizur Rahman and FBCCI Election Board & Appeal Board for the term 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, was held on 03 June 2025 at FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka. Chairman of the FBCCI Election Board Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak, along with members of the Election Board Ms. Mursheda Zaman and Mr. Mustafizur Rahman attended the meeting. Besides, Chairman of the FBCCI Election Appeal Board Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, along with other members of the Appeal Board Mr. Tanvir Ahmed and Dr. Md. Razzaqul Islam were present in the meeting. Mr. Md. Alamgir, Secretary General of the FBCCI also attended the meeting.

Bi-Monthly coordination meeting of the Bangladesh Preparedness Partnership-Phase 2 (BPP2) hosted by FBCCI Safety Council was held on May 26, 2025 at Hotel Golden Tulip, Dhaka. Mr. K.M. Abdul Wadud, Additional Secretary & Chair-BPP Mobilization Desk chaired the meeting. Among others, Secretary General of FBCCI Mr. Md. Alamgir, Adviser of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidulla, Project Preparedness Specialist - ADPC-HQ,Bankok Ms. Shivani Gupta, Co-founder of the Institute of Disaster Management Vulnerability Studies Professor Dr. Mahbuba Nasreen, Program Coordinator of the FBCCI Safety Council Mr. Monjur Kader Khan, academia, government officials and private sectors representatives attended the meeting. While speaking, FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir said, coordinated efforts by the government, non-governmental organizations, academia, private sector as well as international partners are essential in our country's disaster management and preparedness. We are collectively working together to increase the country's disaster resilience. “The role of the private sector in disaster management is very important. Through the FBCCI Safety Council, we have taken several initiatives to reduce disaster risk and enhance emergency preparedness in the private sector following the guidelines assigned to FBCCI through the Standing Order on Disaster Management” he added.
