𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐔? - joint report by #OneHealth Agencies #Azole chemicals are widely used outside human medicine – for example in #biocides to protect wood from harmful organisms. However, their extensive use may contribute to Aspergillus fungi developing resistance to essential medical treatments. This growing resistance threatens the effectiveness of azole-based medicines posing a serious threat to #publichealth. For the first time, #OneHealth Agencies - European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), European Medicines Agency (EMA), European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), European Environment Agency (EEA) partnered with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (EU Science, Research and Innovation) to publish findings on azole fungicide resistance and its public health impact. Are you using Cyclotetrasiloxane (D4), Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), or Cyclohexasiloxane (D6) in your products? Starting 6 June 2026, the use of D4, D5, and D6 in consumer and professional products is restricted in the European Union. These cyclosiloxanes are used in various consumer and professional products, including cosmetics, dry cleaning, car waxes and washing and cleaning products. The measure, based on #ECHA's restriction proposal, aims to protect our environment by reducing emissions of these very persistent and very bioaccumulative chemicals by up to 90%. Play your part in protecting the environment. Read the conditions of the restrictions in the Official Journal of the European Unionhttps://lnkd.in/dh7ym9Nc #ChemicalSafetyEU

#UFImattersEU - Are you sure the Unique Formula Identifier you've included in your poison centre notification is correct? To double check, have a look at our new infographic that helps you manage your UFIs properly. ▶️https://lnkd.in/d7XXTivi Remember that using the same UFI for mixtures with different compositions is prohibited and makes it difficult for poison centre operators to give accurate information in case of emergencies.
