Addressing behavioral health staff shortages means attracting talent, sure — but more importantly, it means hanging on to the staff you already have. 🤝 The key question here is, “Can my employees picture themselves here long-term?” These days, you’ve gotta offer more than a job to keep employees for the long haul; you’ve gotta give them a journey of growth, learning, and advancement. Our recent blog post explores the transformative power of #CareerPathing in #BehavioralHealth organizations, highlighting personal insights from Anthony Carter, LCSW-C, Director of Practice Improvement & Consulting at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. “I’ve really been intrigued by these programs that are offering training while on the job — that are allowing you to get another credential, which allows you to advance,” Anthony explains. “I think that’s so wonderful because not only is it giving you that information and credential, but it’s also allowing you to be supported by your organization and feel good staying. It creates that desire to want to stay and to do more because you see how much the organization is pouring into you.” Read the full article to discover why mapping out clear career trajectories is one of the best ways to engage and retain providers.👇 🔗 https://bit.ly/3zB8B7k And for even more burnout-reducing strategies, grab your copy of our Guide to Building a Best Place to Work in Behavioral Health. “Most of our sessions are being documented in under 3 minutes now, down from the typical industry standard of about 15 minutes, which is just phenomenal." - Matthew Spencer, Chief Clinical Officer at GRAND Mental Health, on how Eleos has transformed the documentation process for his team According to a recent National Council for Mental Wellbeing survey, 33% of providers spend the majority of their time on administrative tasks. 😧 Furthermore, 43% say they must work extra hours to meet those demands — and 47% say most of the admin work they do feels unnecessary. 😧😧😧 As Spencer explained during last month's National Council webinar on the workforce benefits of #BehavioralHealthAI, all of that leads to #Burnout — causing many providers to quit their jobs or leave the industry altogether. By decreasing the time providers spend on such energy-draining administrative tasks, AI is helping to improve retention rates across behavioral health workforces — and ultimately, improve client care. 💖 Check out the full webinar recap to learn more about the proven impact of a purpose-built AI platform on provider burnout and turnover. There are plenty of great adjectives you might use to describe #AI: incredible, amazing, powerful, unbelievable, or transformative, to name a few. 💫 But "perfect" definitely isn't one of them. Yep, even as an AI company, we'll be the first to raise our hand and say there are still plenty of problems with artificial intelligence. 🙋♀️ One of the biggest? Hallucinations. As you might have guessed, hallucinations happen when AI invents or fabricates responses (a.k.a. "output") if it doesn't have enough information or context to generate an accurate, factual response. This might not be a huge deal when you're asking AI to write an internal email or a silly poem to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. But when AI is being used to fill in #BehavioralHealth client records, the quest to prevent hallucinations becomes way more high-stakes. Here at Eleos, our Data Science team is at the forefront of curbing AI hallucinations with a cutting-edge approach known as: ✨Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)✨ Check out our latest blog post to get the scoop on the fascinating science behind RAG — and to see our team's tips for keeping hallucinations out of your AI-generated note content. (Shoutout to Lidor Bahar, Amit Spinrad, and Samuel Jefroykin 🎗️ for sharing their expert insights! 🙏) #HealthcareAI #AugmentedIntelligence #MoreCareLessOps

We had an amazing time presenting to a PACKED house in Philly earlier this month during the OPEN MINDS Circle Technology & Analytics Institute! 👏👏👏 ICYMI - Our very own Shiri Sharvit, PhD, teamed up with Minu Naik, MBA, Senior Director of Strategy & Innovation at Merakey, and Tyler Allem, Senior Manager of IT PMO at Merakey, to chat about the ins and outs of specialized #AI technology — and how Merakey has successfully integrated the Eleos Documentation and Compliance products into their daily workflows. Huge thanks to our speakers for sharing their insights and supporting our vision to free up #BehavioralHealth providers to focus on delivering great care! 🫶 #YouCareWeCare #MoreCareLessOps #AugmentedIntelligence

After beginning her career in community mental health and school settings, Pavandeep Sandhu, LMFT, decided to give online therapy a try. She was attracted by the promise of a more manageable caseload, but the reality turned out to be quite the opposite. More and more administrative responsibilities stacked up on top of her clinical workload, and the endless meetings and piles of paperwork made it hard to focus on actual client sessions. “Even though it’s all pro-profit-and-productivity, you don’t feel productive — because at that point, it’s just stressful,” she explained. Plus, the relentless focus on output and revenue left her feeling drained and unfulfilled. 😔 In the end, she decided to go back to working in schools. With staff shortages plaguing behavioral health organizations across the country, many employers are desperate for ways to prevent therapists like Pavandeep from leaving their jobs. If you're curious about what * really * causes providers to walk away, check out our new blog post featuring three personal stories from providers who quit. "As promising as all of this sounds — and I’m very bullish on tech in mental health — we’re still figuring out the best ways to integrate AI and other emerging technologies into care. There’s a lot we don’t know yet, and if we don’t approach this work with humility and a willingness to learn, we’re bound to miss something. Technology is not a panacea. We have to be careful not to overpromise or overlook the human element that’s at the core of all therapeutic work." - Shiri Sharvit, PhD, Chief Clinical Officer at Eleos In her most recent blog article for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, Shiri explains why emerging tech like #AI has the power to actually restore human connections in health care — especially in the #BehavioralHealth space. At the same time, she urges providers to remain vigilant in how they are using these tools — and more importantly, how they are deciding * which * tools to use.
