RILA LINK 2025 was an unforgettable experience for our sales team, who had the opportunity to attend one of the industry's largest and most influential Retail Supply Chain Conferences. Over 2,000 retail supply chain leaders gathered in Orlando to participate in more than 1,500 one-on-one meetings with retailers, consumer product manufacturers, and solution providers.   The event featured over 100 expert speakers and presentations, with our team gaining insights into the latest trends and cutting-edge technologies in supply chain management. There were more than 50 breakout sessions and working groups to attend, and the main topics featured AI in supply chain, sustainability practices, and reverse logistics. The February event brought together over 2,600 exhibitors from more than 90 countries to showcase fresh produce's latest trends, technologies, and innovations.  This year’s event also saw record-breaking participation from China, Turkey, and Egypt, highlighting the global reach of this vital industry. On January 23rd, 2025, we had the privilege of attending the 10th annual State of the Port event at the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal, presented by the Port of Los Angeles and the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association. The event was an excellent opportunity to hear from Port Executive Director Gene Seroka, who delivered a compelling keynote on supply chain updates and outlined the Port's strategic priorities for 2025. Some key takeaways from the event: ▪️ The Port of Los Angeles continues to be the busiest port in the United States, with 2024 marking its second-busiest year ever. ▪️ Green initiatives are making a significant impact, leading to the lowest levels of diesel particulates since tracking began. It's encouraging to see the Port's commitment to sustainability. ▪️ Investments in infrastructure are at an all-time high, signaling strong growth and stability in this critical global gateway. ▪️ New technologies are being adopted to improve the efficiency and predictability of containerized cargo flow, helping streamline operations and enhance reliability. ▪️ Gene Seroka’s efforts to build stronger connections between the Port and Asian markets continue to pay off, fostering even more trade opportunities across the globe. The event was not just informative, but also impactful, as all proceeds support local nonprofits like EXP and the International Seafarers Center of the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. To further enhance our associates' performance and save valuable time, we’ve introduced Customized Pallet Wrapping Supply stations. These mobile stations come equipped with everything needed to allow our associates to travel seamlessly through their facility without limitation and limiting waste. By streamlining the wrapping process, we achieved a nearly 5 percent efficiency gain across our facilities. Beyond improving efficiency, the carts also make waste collection easier, contributing to a cleaner, more organized work environment and reinforcing our productivity and attention to sustainability culture.
