Overall, I think the #AI boom is quite different from the Dot Com boom and bust. There is much more substance in AI, which is letting us solve business problems that were completely unsolvable 2 years ago. That said, the key lesson for me was that investment booms are like raffles not like lotteries. You have to be present at the end of the evening to claim your prize. Arguably, Webvan was every bit as revolutionary a user experience as Amazon, but was managed in a way that didn't have a chance of survival if the era of free capital went away. So . . . invest in things that solve real problems *and* have good unit economics *and* pace investments to sustain a change in environment.
