CommandPost® worked closely with lead research academics at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) to improve inter-agency and community #collaboration in #emergency #preparedness and #response. This project harnessed CommandPost® to capture a decision log & record of discussions held between agencies, through a simulated exercise with NSW Government. This involved representatives from NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, NSW State Emergency Service, and the Premier's Department NSW. The findings identified key learnings and recommendations that prompt collaboration with community-led efforts and highlight the importance of effective engagement and the safety of #spontaneous #volunteers. Dr Kate Mirandilla Delmo, a specialist in Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Risk Resilience Research at University of Technology Sydney, presented the findings, which have been adopted as a resource for the State Premier to inform the state's approach in emergency and disaster management. 👏🏻👏🏻 "These findings will help government agencies further identify and incorporate policies into disaster/relief plans for the safety and immediate mobilisation of response efforts." CommandPost® now integrates with Garmin to provide real-time tracking, via satellite connection, and to issue alerts from in-field devices. This extends the capability of our solution to enable Garmin-issued GPS devices to be linked for ease in coordinating with crews, no matter their location. Experience enhanced #safety and #connectivity. In the event of an emergency Garmin-issued GPS devices can trigger a SOS message to the Garmin International Emergency Response Coordination Centre (IERCC), which can simultaneously issue an advisory notification within a linked CommandPost® account to support a localised response. CommandPost® has worked in closely with the public sector to establish interoperability, which has aided information sharing and real-time collaboration, to support agencies and relevant stakeholders. This has required a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements that govern data sharing between agencies.
