About us
At ComEd, we believe in being an energy partner, not just an energy provider. Being a provider means we deliver electricity to over 4 million customers across northern Illinois, which accounts for about 70 percent of the state’s population. We do so safely and reliably because we are driven by the innovation that comes from the industry expertise our employees offer. And we're committed to pursuing best-in-class performance so that our customers receive the quality service they expect and deserve. We have championed investments in technology that help shorten outages and make them less frequent, and those investments empower our customers to make smart choices about energy usage. Being a partner means we also help our customers discover new ways to save money on electric bills, while also showing how they can help the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint. We also support a range of initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives. Our commitment focuses on education, environment, arts and culture, and community development. At ComEd, #PoweringLives isn’t just a motto. It is the driving force behind everything we do. Learn more about ComEd anytime at www.ComEd.com.

Congratulations to the new inductees! Thank you for your courage.

Utility workers in numerous situations also act as first responders - first on the scene, providing first aid and then assisting police, fire and EMS workers. At ComEd, we recognized and honored these employees who went above and beyond their line of duty last year by responding to all types of emergencies such as auto accidents, house or building fires, helping the young and the elderly, and many more, saving lives in our communities day in and day out. We inducted them yesterday to the ComEd 101 Club. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 15. #lineworkers #firstresponders #poweringlives

More than 250 of our employees and contractors are heading east to support our sister operating companies, PECO in Philadelphia and Baltimore Gas and Electric, with restoration efforts after heavy snow, ice and wind storms. After completing safety trainings upon arrival, our crews will help repair damage and restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Join us in giving them a warm and safe sendoff! 🤝

A clean energy transition needs a clean energy workforce — and ComEd is teaming up with partners to build it. Today, at the announcement of the relocation of The Aspen Institute’s “Aspen Ideas: Climate” from Miami Beach to Chicago on July 21-22, 2025, I highlighted ComEd’s work with the event host HIRE360 Partners, led by Executive Director Jay Rowell, on training workers for roles in building out the state’s #EV and #renewableenergy infrastructure, as well as the policy support we receive from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. Proud to be joined on a panel by two champions for workforce development and clean energy — Deputy Governor Bria Scudder and Utopia Hill, CEO of Reactivate - moderated by Tara Molina of @WBBM | CBS Chicago. Together we can ensure every community benefits from the environmental and economic opportunities that flow from the transition to a cleaner future. Grateful to Rachel Star and Kobi Weinberg of Chicago Climate Corps (C3) and to Margot Pritzker, Dan Porterfield, Greg Gershuny and Catherine (Kitty) Pollack of the The Aspen Institute for bringing the “Aspen Ideas: Climate” to Chicago.
