🏌️ ⛳ Calling all golf course operators! The City is searching for the right lessee to renovate and run the picturesque Mission Trails Golf Course near Lake Murray! In addition to maintaining the 18-hole golf course and rehabilitating the driving range, the City is looking for a lessee that can renovate the clubhouse, which includes a pro shop, banquet room, kitchen and bar. The City would also like the lessee to provide food options and concessions to the public. Request for Proposals are due April 11 at 4 p.m. PDT. San Diego lifeguards work 24 hours a day, covering approximately 46 miles of coastline. In total, San Diego City beaches receive more than 21 million visits each year. In addition to this exposure, and as the “Official Vehicle of the San Diego Lifeguards,” this partner will have a variety of marketing opportunities, such as exclusive access to elected officials' media events, website exposure, the opportunity to co-host Lifeguard events and programs, TV/radio promotions and the use of San Diego beaches for vehicle advertisements. These policies are related to the administration, sale and leasing of City-owned property and will increase customer service, streamline processes, provide better transparency to the public and City Council, give clear guidance to employees and increase disclosures. Our Engineering and Capital Projects (E&CP) Department is in the spotlight for its use of technology to help streamline our Capital Improvements Program (CIP) projects. 👏 The American Public Works Association featured E&CP in the January 2025 issue of its magazine, APWA Reporter. The article discusses the challenges of growing demands across our aging infrastructure and how the department's Project Management Office uses various programs to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of successfully executing our CIP.
