Updates

  • Today, Mayor Tishaura O. Jones signed Board Bill 155, updating, clarifying, and strengthening the processes for monitoring compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship standards. This also adds dedicated staff to ensure the implementation of the new bill, allowing us to better support our highly-trained and diverse construction workforce in St. Louis. This is a big win for every resident in St. Louis, and especially for workers. Thank you to Alderman Narayan, the St. Louis Development Corporation, MOKAN, members of the Greater St. Louis Building Trades Council, the Carpenters, and City staff for working together to reach a compromise bill that works for the City, the residents, minority contractors, and the building trades.

  • St. Louis is becoming safer. Violent crime is down across the board compared to this time in 2024. That includes a drop from 30 homicides by Feb. 23, 2024, to 13 by Feb. 23, 2025. It also includes significant drops in burglaries, auto thefts, shooting incidents, and several other categories. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the Circuit Attorney's Office, the Office of Violence Prevention, and so many community organizations and residents are doing amazing work, and we will continue to support them to make St. Louis safer. One life affected by crime is one too many! Learn more about St. Louis crime statistics by visiting slmpd.org/stats.

  • 📢 Mayor Jones Administration Unveils Interactive Map of Neighborhood Transformation Investments The City of St. Louis is making historic investments in neighborhoods across the city, and now residents can see exactly where and how those funds are being used. Mayor Tishaura O. Jones and the Community Development Administration (CDA) have launched a new Neighborhood Transformation Investment Map, highlighting over $250 million invested through the Economic Justice Action Plan (EJAP) over the last four years. This interactive tool provides a transparent look at housing, business development, and transportation projects, giving residents easy access to track the progress happening in their communities. “Under my administration, the City of St. Louis is investing in every neighborhood and community,” said Mayor Tishaura O. Jones. “This map makes every project, every allocation, and every impact accessible. We remain dedicated to being responsible stewards of public funds and committed to our unwavering belief that every resident deserves to see exactly how their tax dollars are working to build a stronger, more equitable St. Louis.” The initiatives featured on the map have leveraged over $1 billion in private development alongside more than $300 million committed to transportation infrastructure upgrades between 2024 and 2027. These investments are fueling a regenerative ecosystem designed to reverse population decline and strengthen communities. “Over the past four years, our team has worked hand in hand with individuals, neighborhood groups, nonprofits, developers, and public partners to dramatically expand and diversify CDA's programs,” said Nahuel Fefer, executive director of the Community Development Administration. “Though necessarily incomplete, this map embodies our commitment to transparency and offers a glimpse at how federal and local funds are transforming our city. We invite residents to use this interactive tool to learn more about the City's economic justice initiatives and join us in building a more equitable and sustainable city.” The map features housing, community development, childcare, transportation, and more, with tools to filter by ward, neighborhood, organization, or project type. 🔗 Explore the Neighborhood Transformation Investment Map on the City of St. Louis website: https://lnkd.in/e5kF7m3U 🔗 Download a printable map of our Economic Justice Action Plan: Empower; Develop; Transform: https://lnkd.in/eRpfkwQY

  • St. Louis is embracing the urban qualities that made our city thrive—walkability, connectivity, and vibrant neighborhoods. Last night, the Planning Commission adopted a modern Strategic Land Use Plan (SLUP) that will shape the future of St. Louis, fostering sustainable growth and revitalization. "For the past century, American cities have prioritized cars and sprawl, often at the expense of the people who live here. With the new SLUP, we are turning a corner—making St. Louis a more walkable, dynamic city full of opportunity," said Mayor Tishaura Jones. "This plan is a critical step in reversing decades of population loss by investing in both people and place."
