Building affordable landers, rovers, and tools to enable surface operations on the Moon, Mars, and beyond
About us
We are committed to building additional homes for humanity and our ecosystems on the Moon, Mars and beyond for the rest of history. To borrow words from John Kennedy, we take this goal not because it is easy but because it is hard. It will bring out the best in our creativity, our dreams, and what it means to be human. The robots and AI systems we build for space are the hammers and nails that will enable this dream and allow it to be affordable. At Ceres Robotics we are building the smart robots to be the shovels and wagons as the tools for the next generation of prospectors and explorers.

EHF Fellow Udit Shah, Technology Lead at Ceres Robotics, Inc., is leading groundbreaking initiatives in space exploration, fueled by a passion for pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. Udit has been part of the efforts to establish a commercially accessible and sustainable in-space economy beyond earth orbit, having contributed to various lunar space startups such as Team Indus and Orbit Beyond. In his current role at Ceres Robotics (founded by Fellow Michael Sims and advised by Fellows Michael D’Angelo, Emeline Paat-Dahlstrom, and Eric Dahlstrom), Udit spearheads the development of landers, rovers, and tools crucial for affordable surface operations on the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Udit is also the principal investigator and lead designer for Ceres' 50-kW reliable, scalable, and sustainable clean power source to support lunar habitats, rovers, and construction systems for future robotic and crewed lunar missions, being developed under a NASA Small Business Innovation Research contract. Working within strategic partnerships with the likes of NASA, NASA's Artemis programme, and Fellow-led & NZ-based company SpaceBase Limited, Udit is at the forefront of space exploration innovation and inspiring the next generation of space explorers. Udit is part of the Fellow group Ngaa Reo Wheko, which had its EHF Welcome Experience in May 2023.
