📢 🪵 🔥 Important findings in this recently published research authored by Carbon Containment Lab's Jake Barker and Sinead Crotty and Kodama Systems' Jimmy Voorhis on the *high* direct cost of pile-burning forest residues in the western U.S. (CA, WA, OR) which the paper estimates to range from $55-86/t CO2e == *plus* significant detrimental effect on air quality and thus community health. Hopefully this will help encourage USDA Forest Service to accelerate prioritization of BiCRS and other beneficial use of this residual biomass resource.
