CAPE Employee Spotlight | Elisa Morgan. Born and raised in El Paso, TX, Elisa has called Denver, CO home for the past nine years. She earned her B.S. in Geology from Purdue University and her M.S. in Geosciences from UNC Wilmington. Alongside her husband and their 4-year-old son, Elisa enjoys hiking, biking, playing board games, and exploring new breweries. She joined CAPE in June 2024 as a GIS Analyst and Environmental Data Scientist, working on a variety of projects, creating figures, and supporting environmental data analysis. One of Elisa’s most memorable projects was her graduate thesis on magma dynamics at Axial Seamount where she spent weeks on a research vessel collecting data to model the magma chamber's characteristics. Inspired by her love for the outdoors, Elisa discovered her passion for geology during her junior year of college and has been dedicated to the field ever since. Her career advice to those just starting is to find something that interests you and don't be afraid to ask for help. She appreciates the variety of projects and the welcoming, helpful team at CAPE, making every day a unique and enjoyable experience! #OutstandingPeople #OutstandingResults #WeNotMe #CAPElife
