Over the last month, over 30 DWR Watershed Protection Specialists have worked alongside CCC Corpsmembers under Cal OES's Watershed Protection Task Force to assess damaged sites and burn scars in Southern California, in preparation for rain and storms this winter. The task force worked with crews to place protective materials throughout vulnerable areas to reduce potential contamination into waterways and to control erosion. With another storm on the way this week, DWR is prepared for potential flood emergencies in the region, with 12 locations already stocked full of pre-positioned flood fight materials, including over 319,000 sandbags and 5,6000 super sacks. Check out all the work being done to help protect Southern California against potential floods. #Floods #California #prepared #ready #emergencies
