The California Fresh Fruit Association is looking forward to bringing its membership together to celebrate the 89th Annual Meeting at the Ojai Valley Inn in March. The event will feature a keynote presentation from Nicola Twilley, author of "Frostbite: How Refrigeration Changed Our Food, Our Planet, and Ourselves." Additionally, attendees will hear labor and legislative updates from Ron Barsamian, Louie Brown, Lorren Walker and Josh Walters.

Join CFFA in attending the 7th Annual Ag One West Side Alumni and Friends Luncheon on November 7, at Fresno Equipment Company in Five Points. Thank you HMC Farms for hosting Congressman Jim Costa and CFFA staff this week. The visit included discussions on water, immigration, labor and the passage of the new Farm Bill.

This week, CFFA President Daniel Hartwig visited Washington, D.C. to participate in the International Fresh Produce Association's Government Relations meeting. Additionally, he met with Congressmen Jim Costa, David Valadao and Vince Fong, as well as ag staff for Senator LaPhonza Butler. He advocated for increased support to eradicate Glassy Winged Sharpshooter, use of a science-based approach for Fall pumping to increase water supply, and the need for a Farm Bill that will provide support to fresh fruit growers. #CalFreshFruit

On August 14, CFFA Director of Trade, Caroline Stringer was in Hanoi City, Vietnam to take part in festivities celebrating market access for California peaches and nectarines. The Association extends its appreciation to USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for their partnership in this process. Marc Gilkey of APHIS commented, “If you work in agricultural trade, you have heard of International Services, we are the professional foreign service of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Our cadre of veterinarians, entomologists and plant pathologists work around the globe to ensure safe, transparent, and resilient trade can and will happen. Our office in Hanoi worked with determination to open this historic market for California nectarines and peaches for the Vietnamese consumer.”   The California stone fruit industry looks forward to sharing the freshest peaches and nectarines with a new group of consumers. #EatFreshFruit #CAGrown

Yesterday, CFFA had the opportunity to host members in Sacramento for the Association's annual Fruit Delivery. The group met with members of the state legislature along with CDFA Secretary Karen Ross and Undersecretary Christine (Robbins) Birdsong to deliver lunch boxes filled with fresh fruit from across California.

This week, CFFA's Director of Trade, Caroline Stringer, participated in a California stone fruit tasting event in Tokyo, Japan. The event hosted some of Japan’s most popular foodies and influencers – all sampling California nectarines and plums prepared in new and exciting ways. #EatFreshFruit #CAFreshFruit
