Exciting times are underway at North Dakota State University! Our inaugural Bayer B4U chapter launched in early 2025, where Dr. Ana María Heilman and I selected NDSU Mentees and connected them with esteemed leaders and scientists at Bayer | Crop Science. The NDSU B4U Mentees promptly immersed themselves in the program by touring state-of-the-art Bayer innovation facilities in Iowa. We further fostered connectivity with the exceptional Cultivating Potential Workshop on July 29th! With inspiring keynotes, powerful grower testimonials, and a tour of the Peltier Complex, we forged meaningful connections and expanded our knowledge. A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible! A special acknowledgement to our bold NDSU B4U Mentees – your confidence and curiosity are paving the way for the future! We're thrilled to keep this momentum going and select new students for future cohorts. What is better then having one mentor? How about having several?! This afternoon the Utah State University chapter of the Bayer University Mentoring Program held our first virtual networking session between all four mentors and mentees. For the past few months, the mentees (Claire Spickermann, Olanrewaju E. Adeyemi, Saroj Burlakoti, and Madigan Eckels) have received direct, personalized mentoring from their mentors (Brian Gardunia, Christopher Van Horn, Jose Tovar, and Kevin Richard Cope, Ph.D., respectively). Now, with new connections, these students' mentor circle has expanded and they can receive the additional guidance they need as they chart their future professional careers. Go #USUAggies! Two weeks ago, I visited Bayer Crop Science | Innovation Ecosystem in Monheim for the Bayer University Mentoring Program on-site meeting. I had a wonderful day with inspiring talks, discussions and new insights regarding my career development. It was a pleasure to finally meet my mentor Arwa Al-Dilaimi in person. I am very thankful for this opportunity! Thanks to CEPLAS - Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences and Bayer Crop Science | Innovation Ecosystem for the organisation and all the effort!

B4U with Bayer! 🚀 I am very pleased to share that I am participating in the Bayer University Mentoring Program – B4U 2025 This opportunity arrived at a meaningful point in my academic journey, where every exchange of knowledge directly contributes to shaping the professional I aspire to become. The mentorship with Patric P. Morais has been an incredibly enriching experience. Throughout our conversations, we have discussed the market’s expectations for new professionals and the main challenges faced by those who want to work as breeders in a multinational company.
