Protect Life. Obsolete the bullet. Global tech company dedicated to capturing truth with connected cameras & devices.
About us
Our story began in September of 1993 when TASER International was founded by CEO Rick Smith with his brother Tom Smith. They consulted with Jack Cover, former NASA scientist and inventor of the original TASER® conducted energy weapons of the 1970s. Rick Smith was inspired to found the company after losing two high school football teammates who were shot and killed in a road rage incident. This experience led him to seek new technologies that would enable people to protect themselves without deploying lethal force in hopes of creating a bullet-less world. Today, Axon represents the entire network of devices, applications and people that is revolutionizing public safety around the world. Our mission is to protect life. We’re building the world’s largest and most trusted suite of public safety solutions. If you are seeking a career with purpose, we invite you to join us. We're excited to see innovative technologies like Axon Fusus and cutting-edge indoor tactical robotics helping to keep everyone safe, including Campbell Police Department SWAT operators who put their lives on the line every day. #Axon #ProtectLife
Over the weekend our staff responded to a critical incident involving a firearm that thankfully resolved safely for all involved. This incident again highlighted how the integration of technology into tactical operations can improve operational awareness and enhance the safety of officers on scene. During this event we deployed DJI M3T to provide visual of the exterior of the residence, and a Loki 2 by Axon to clear the inside of the residence before sending our SWAT team in. Axon Fusus was used to stream both body cameras and drone video back to the command post on one pane of glass. The ability to have this level of visibility from a command and operational perspective cuts down on unnecessary communication and allows for more informed decision making. Seeing the investments in technology and training that our agency has made pay off in real world environments is truly remarkable. https://lnkd.in/g9jUP-dC

How High Should Drones Fly? Public safety agencies are scaling Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, but one question keeps coming up: Should drones fly at 200 or 400 feet? The right answer? Both. Altitude capability is essential—lower altitudes provide close-range visibility and precise navigation, while higher altitudes offer broad situational awareness and extended operational reach. The best DFR programs adapt seamlessly. With Axon Air DFR, agencies gain the altitude capability needed to handle any mission. ✅ Fly at 200 feet for shielded operations in urban environments ✅ Fly at 400 feet for extended beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) coverage and greater oversight ✅ Integrate real-time intelligence with Axon Air DFR The future of real-time public safety operations is here. Learn how agencies like New York City Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Campbell Police Department and Oklahoma City Police Department are redefining what’s possible with DFR programs.
