Two months ago, Microsoft announced at Quantum World Congress how we are collaborating to build the world’s most powerful quantum computer. Last Tuesday, during his #MSIgnite keynote speech, Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella announced the amazing technical results that we've demonstrated together: entangling 24 logical qubits, and running an algorithm with 28 logical qubits with error detection and correction! All of this powered by Atom's hardware and state-of-the-art qubit fidelities! This is not a laboratory experiment - this full-stack solution combining #QuantumComputing, #AI, and #HPC is a joint offering and available for order today! 🔗 Learn more! This week's Life in Quantum seminar features Ben Bloom, CEO and founder of Atom Computing. The title of his talk is "Neutral Atoms: A promising path forward for Utility Scale Quantum Computers." Abstract: A drastic resurgence of interest in Neutral Atom Quantum Computing has ushered in a new era of fascinating demonstrations of key enabling technologies for Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing. Over the last six years huge advancements of all of the constituent pieces of a neutral atom quantum computer have pushed the field beyond initial demonstrations into a more engineering focused question of how big and how performant a system can be built. In the talk, Ben Bloom will give an overview of recent demonstrations enabled by Atom Computing’s systems built around alkaline-earth(-like) elements including: long coherence times, high-fidelity-scalable-low-loss readout, individually driven 1Q gates, 2Q gates at high fidelity, mid-circuit measurement, and large array refilling. He will cap this off showcasing some of the initial results showcasing complicated circuits running on a full stack neutral atom quantum computer. We meet in Auditorium M on Thursday September 19th at 3pm. After the talk there will be exciting discussions, networking, and refreshments in MA-14. All are welcome. #seminar #lifeinquantum #quantumcomputing #atoms
