Illinois has transformed its clean energy economy dramatically over the past decade: solar power capacity alone has grown by 35 times in the past six years. With this shift, the Illinois Power Agency is playing an increasing role in achieving the Prairie State’s climate, energy, and equity goals. SA Grid Solutions, Apex’s joint venture with SK gas and SK eternix, has powered up its first project! Great Kiskadee Storage is now the first operational facility owned under the JV. Located in Hidalgo County, Texas, the 100 MW/200 MWh project marks the first of multiple storage assets planned under the partnership and will provide grid stability while delivering more than $12.6 million in tax revenue to the surrounding area over its lifetime.
