Starting from the Group Chief Sustainability Officer's fireside chat on "The Role of Insurance in Enabling the #Net-#Zero Transition" by Linda Freiner from Zurich Insurance, Emilia M. from Allianz are set to blow your mind with their insights. The session, moderated by Jeremy Brown from Anthemis Group, will address the fundamental role that the insurance sector can play in enabling the net-zero transition. As risk managers, how do insurance helps customers to understand, prevent and reduce climate-related risks; as risk carriers, how to protect households, companies and communities by absorbing the financial shocks from increasingly extreme weather; and finally, as institutional investors, how to finance the transition of companies and scaling capital towards climate solutions. What's attractive for LPs is that  venture debt is essentially a fixed income product. They like that annuity of return. They like the fact that there is an amortizing profile.
