Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner joined NJ TRANSIT President and CEO Kris Kolluri at Portal North Bridge today in Kearny, NJ, to highlight the delivery of the third and final arch of the bridge’s span. We’re proud to highlight this significant milestone together with our partners at NJ TRANSIT, as having all three arches here shows off the project’s progress and what we can accomplish when we invest in infrastructure in the Northeast. Construction is on schedule and within budget, and we’re looking forward to Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT trains riding on the new bridge late next year!

Our HYCC-3 team with Amtrak recently reached a major milestone: driving the last of 337 secant piles that will hold up the sides of hole where the new concrete casing will be built. The next step is excavating, then building the new concrete casing to connect the new tunnel to NY Penn Station.  

On Monday, we celebrated the life and leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Throughout his life, Dr. King dedicated his efforts to serving others and envisioning a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. His enduring words and actions continue to inspire us to build bridges, amplify voices, and create meaningful progress.   In honor of his legacy, our A. Philip Randolph Employee Resource Group hosted a virtual program that brought employees together to reflect on Dr. King’s impact and his vision of a Beloved Community. On National Law Enforcement Day, we recognize the K9 officers who retired from the Amtrak Police Department in 2024. Together with their human partners, the highly skilled dogs — on duty for a combined 28 years — worked to protect Amtrak customers, trains, and stations from harm. Honoring 200 years of railways! Today, we’re joining over 50 railways and up to 200 locomotives worldwide in the Railway 200 Whistle-Up—the largest railway heritage celebration ever. At noon local time, train horns and whistles will echo across the globe, kicking off a year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of the modern railway.   From the launch of the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825 to the rail networks of today, railroads have shaped economies, connected communities, and moved the world forward.  We’re proud to sound our horn and celebrate rail's legacy, innovation, and future. #Railway200 #WhistleUp 

Last week, we had the honor of hosting the 11th annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony at Gray 30th Street Station. Eliot Hamlisch, our Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, was joined by employees, their families, and community members for this special event. A big thank you to the Consul General of Israel Ofir Akunis and Rabbi Levi for helping make the evening memorable.
