Emerging deep tech and quantum technology hold profound economic and strategic potential with transformative impact across sectors such as defense, space, and energy. Collaborations in this rapidly changing world are also critical, with partnerships such as #AUKUS exploring the potential of dual-use applications of deep tech. This future focus is driving advancements and investments across the sector, to not only support innovation, but build workforce capabilities, access critical supply chains and develop facilities and infrastructure. With our friends at Jones Day and the American Australian Association we recently sat down with some leading global voices to discuss these issues in a forum: Global Horizons for Deep and Emerging Technologies. With perspectives from former NASA Program Director Gregory Robinson, Prof. Emily Hilder at the Department of Defence and The Hon. Dr. William Jeffrey former CEO of SRI and HRL as well as our own Andrew Dzurak, our discussion on the future of deep tech was masterfully led by former Ambassador The Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO. Thanks to everyone who attended, our panelists and moderator as well as our co-hosts Hemang Shah and Ian Irving. #quantuminnovation #deeptech

US Immigration Attorney: Founder & Principal, Cammisa Markel PLLC Immigration Law Firm

Monday night was truly special as we partnered with the American Australian Association to host an event on What to Expect Under the Trump Administration regarding business immigration. It was such a privilege to engage with a room full of familiar faces, clients from as far back as 20 years ago, and many new connections. The diversity in the room was incredible, with attendees from Australia, Brazil, South Africa, France, Italy, and New Zealand—a wonderful reflection of the global community we serve. A heartfelt thank you to our clients, COPS Donuts, for their generous donation of 300 of their delightful mini donuts—what a treat! Special thanks to Alex White for helping make it happen. Another standout moment came from our client Stephanie Morton-Small, who shared her song We Got This (sung by the talented Cass Eager) after hearing me say the same phrase in a promo video. Closing the evening with that song and a little dance was the perfect way to wrap things up! The audience's questions were thoughtful and insightful, sparking a deeper dialogue than I had even planned for—and I loved it. A special thanks to our moderator, Eddie Grey, whose energy and skill made the evening not only informative but genuinely enjoyable. Thank you, Eddie, and the American Australian Association, for your partnership and support in creating such a meaningful event. For everyone who asked, “When’s the next one?”—we’re planning to host a session on green cards in the new year. Stay tuned for the details! In the meantime, I hope you can all take time to enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. Thank you again for making this event so memorable.

  • The American Australian Association extends its deepest thanks to Claire Noone, Chief Representative, Reserve Bank of Australia, who addressed Australian business leaders at a roundtable event in Boston. She shared insights on key current issues and the economic and financial market outlook for Australia; and led a discussion in which participants discussed the unique ecosystem of Boston and Cambridge as a hub of learning, innovation, investment and commercialization; and opportunities for both Australia and the US. We also extend our thanks to Lochiel Crafter, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Client Coverage, State Street Global Advisors, for generously hosting the event.

  • This year’s Benefit Dinner was a night to remember! And this time, we reached a new milestone. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an incredible US$1.6 million in support of the American Australian Association and our growing scholarship programs. It’s a record-breaking achievement that wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of our special guests and loyal sponsors. We extend our gratitude to our 2024 Honorees, James P. Gorman with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Yvette Ostolaza. We also thank Steve Hasker for hosting an exceptional fireside chat with James. The evening was capped off with a phenomenal performance by Australian-American country music legend Keith Urban. Or, as our President Amb. John Berry (Ret) fondly remarked, our favorite ‘Nashtralian’! We paid homage to the incredible career of Amb. Berry ahead of his retirement at the end of the year, and announced the new scholarship in his name, the Amb. John Berry (Ret) Impact Award. Thank you to all who supported this special event, the funds raised will allow our robust scholarship program to develop in new and exciting ways. We are very grateful – cheers mates!
