Lynda Taylor attended SEMAPLE-EPIC-LAALTA Conference 2025 in Brazil and was representing ALTE. It's always great to connect and re-connect with friends old and new at these conferences. Plus of course lots of content to digest and think about! #SEMAPLE-EPIC-LAALTA #LAALTA #Brazil #languagelearning #languagetesting
Day 3: final day of the LAALTA conference in Londrina, Brazil. Strong focus today on inclusive assessment for all test takers, and especially for YLs. Excellent plenary by Prof Judit Kormos, followed by a series of research presentations, sessions on pedagogical experience, and mini-courses for teachers. Raffling the publishers’ book donations to participants was so much fun! Finished off the afternoon with my plenary talk. Wonderful event - well done host team & thankyou LAALTA! 👏 Muito obrigada! 🙏🥰

Day 2: A fascinating ‘tour’ of Latin America today to hear about testing & assessment policies and practices: assessing YLs across the continent; LSP assessment in the Brazilian military; perspectives and applications in Mexico; online testing in Costa Rica; assessment policies and literacies in Argentina and elsewhere; and so much more. Some really inspiring and impactful work is going on in the global south. Lots we can learn for other contexts. 😊
