I am thrilled to welcome Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, and Laura Arce, Senior VP for Economic Initiatives at UnidosUS, to the Airbnb Housing Council! As we work to tackle the nation’s complex housing challenges, the expertise and leadership Marc and Laura bring to the table will be invaluable. Their organizations have long been champions for equity, inclusion, and economic opportunity, and I am confident that their voices will help shape our efforts to ensure that housing affordability and homeownership are accessible to all communities. Marc’s dedication to advancing the economic wellbeing of Black Americans and Laura’s tireless advocacy for Latino communities align with the Airbnb Housing Council’s mission to promote greater housing equity. Together, we will continue to push for policies and partnerships that not only increase housing supply but also prioritize inclusion, opportunity, and resilience in communities nationwide. https://lnkd.in/ehegHp2M

I continue to be blown away by the amazing Airbnb.org team. In just over a week, Airbnb.org has provided access to free, temporary housing for more than 2,400 people displaced by Hurricane Helene, including hundreds of children and pets. It’s a powerful example of why Airbnb.org’s model is invaluable – by tapping into the Airbnb host community, Airbnb.org can quickly connect people who have lost their homes or been forced to evacuate with Airbnb hosts, many of whom open their homes for free or at a discount. Airbnb.org’s team is already prepared to support those impacted by Hurricane Milton. Read more from USA TODAY about this incredible work below. https://lnkd.in/gZMVbBkP

Hurricane Helene caused devastation throughout the Southeastern US. To support relief efforts, Airbnb.org is partnering with local organizations to provide free, emergency housing to survivors, volunteers, and first responders. Learn more about how to get help and get involved below. None of this would be possible without the support of generous hosts who have opened their homes to people for free or at discount to people impacted by the storm. “It has been incredibly challenging to find safe accommodations for people displaced by the storm. I’m inspired by my fellow Airbnb hosts who immediately stepped up to support relief efforts and welcome families into their homes through Airbnb.org, which waives all fees associated with Airbnb bookings. Airbnb.org is a powerful way for hosts like myself to better serve our communities when disasters like Hurricane Helene strike.” - Danielle, Airbnb host in Tampa, Florida
