Strokes don’t discriminate. A stroke can affect anyone, at any age. About one in four people worldwide will have a stroke in his or her lifetime. The good news? Most heart disease and/or stroke deaths are preventable and treatable. Today is World Stroke Day - an opportunity to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke, talk about prevention and treatment, and ensure better care and support for survivors. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, and since then we have helped to reduce stroke mortality by nearly 40%. But there is still work to do... - Someone has a stroke every 40 seconds in the U.S., yet most strokes are preventable. Not only do strokes steal lives, but they can also lessen quality of life as survivors can be left disabled and unable to live independently. - Stroke is the No. 2 cause of death in the world, our country’s No. 5 cause of death. Together, we can continue to educate and empower others on the benefits of protecting and improving brain function, managing risk factors like high blood pressure and knowing how to spot the warning signs of stroke F.A.S.T. — all of which are key to achieving a healthier, stroke free community. Help us save lives one heart at a time! Only about 40% of people who have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the U.S. receive bystander CPR. We have to change that. CPR is one of the many things that the American Heart Association does in our community. If you care of their lifesaving work like we do, please consider a donation to our Vice President and Director of HR, Caren Seal’s 2024 Leaders of Impact campaign: https://lnkd.in/gukxRYJ4 You could be the difference between life and death for someone experiencing a cardiac event. She, like so many of our field, project, and leadership staff are a #HeartSaver and certified in CPR and AED. Join the #NationOfLifesavers and be ready to act by learning Hands-Only CPR. We’re ready to make an impact with American Heart Association and ATG’s own, Caren Seal as a Portland, OR Leader of Impact Nominee. Every year across the country, community leaders step up to join Leaders of Impact to bring the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association into the community. This 7-week campagin is focused on driving equitable health for all. ♥️ As a leader in the construction industry, we’re committed to raising awareness about the disproportional impacts of heart disease amongst those in construction careers. Did you know that ATG supports AHA’s Hard Hats with Heart initiative to engage workers and inspire them to live healthier, longer lives? Together we can make a difference, and we hope that we can count on your support! 👷🏻♀️ If you would like to learn more about how to support ATG’s #AHALeadersofImpact campaign, please visit Caren’s fundraising page at: https://lnkd.in/gukxRYJ4

Proud to sponsor and play alongside some of our favorite partners for the JE Dunn Construction Making Links Golf Tournament benefitting Oregon Tradeswomen. ⛳️ Oregon Tradeswomen works to ensure access, opportunity, and equity for women in the skilled construction trades. They do this to meet demand for highly-skilled, qualified, and diverse workforce, and to provide opportunities for economic stability through a career in the trades to women and gender non-conforming jobseekers. Their programs, services, and public policy advocacy address issues of gender disparity, occupational segregation, and wage inequity. 👷🏻♀️ #construction #community #givingback #buildinghope #oregontradeswomen #womeninconstruction #pnw #golf #WeAreATG
