Aclarity
Waste Treatment and Disposal
Aclarity makes dealing with PFAS hassle free. We help landfills and wastewater treatment plants destroy PFAS forever.
About us
Aclarity’s mission is to destroy PFAS forever. The current PFAS removal and disposal methods separate and concentrate PFAS, but do not sufficiently remove PFAS from our environment and therefore do not fully address the problem. The status quo management of PFAS is failing the public and cannot prevail. Our Aclarity electrochemical oxidation system destroys PFAS chemicals in water and liquid waste. We pass concentrated PFAS streams, like raw landfill leachate, through our system and destroy PFAS compounds to greater than 99%.

Aclarity was recognized last week by the Cleantech Group as a top 100 Global Cleantech company in 2025. Alongside, and to our surprise, we also were awarded the Rising Star Award, which is awarded to this year's highest-ranked company of the companies making the list for the first time. Water and public health are being recognized in Cleantech, and these worlds are finally connecting. Congratulations to the entire Aclarity team, our Board, customers, and partners. This is a huge win for public health and the environment. Onwards.

The PFAS cleanup expense is wild. This is just in Europe. Innovate, deploy, and destroy. "The cost of cleaning up toxic forever chemical pollution could reach more than £1.6tn across the UK and Europe over a 20-year period, an annual bill of £84bn, research has found."

We are just beginning to see the switch away from PFAS in consumer goods. Way to go, Patagonia, Columbia Sportswear Company, and others for putting the resources into phasing out PFAS chemicals and successfully eliminating them in their supply chain. We are looking forward to seeing more companies follow suit!

Solutions to reduce PFAS in fertilizer include eliminating PFAS at the source or requiring manufacturers to pre-treat PFAS in wastewater before it reaches wastewater treatment facilities.

This is a nice summary of EPA's draft sewage sludge risk assessment for PFOA and PFOS. Essentially most sludge has PFOA or PFOS greater than 1 ppb, which is above this threshold. We'll be watching this new administration's moves for PFAS legislation closely.
US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its risk assessment for #PFOA and #PFOS (the two poster-children #PFAS chemicals) in sewage sludge/biosolids. Here are five quick things to know from the assessment courtesy of Alex Cossin's reporting. In addition, we are sourcing a interviews with experts about this for additional reporting, so stay tuned to Wastewater Digest for the latest. If you would like to provide comment for the record, shoot me a private message. #wastewater #cleanwater #epa #regulations #contamination #sewage #sludge #biosolids
