"Grid Modernization" & "Renewable Integration" are becoming common topics in energy circles. Central to these efforts are energy storage systems. Previously, we've explored "Behind-the-Meter" (BTM) energy storage, but just as crucial to the broader, domestic grid, are Front-of-Meter (FTM) energy storage systems. So, what exactly does FTM mean, how does it differ from its BTM counterpart, and why is it important? Click the link in the comments to learn more about FTM & energy storage!

Behind-the-meter (BTM) energy storage systems are capable of much more than just providing consumer cost savings. While BTM systems are changing the game by decentralizing capacity & giving consumers a more active role in the energy ecosystem, they can also provide a wide array of valuable services to the grid as a whole. This includes a variety of grid services, including supporting the stability, reliability, & operation of the electric grid, meaning that we are all beneficiaries of BTM assets! Click the link in the comments to join us as we spotlight the relationship between BTM energy storage & the grid!

Consumers are increasingly looking for ways to manage electricity costs & consumption, & peak shaving using BTM systems is a powerful strategy. Behind-the-meter (BTM) energy storage systems offer a key solution, allowing users to store energy when it's cheap (off-peak or from on-site renewables) & discharge it during expensive peak times, significantly reducing utility bills & contributing to grid stability. Click the link in the comments to learn about how this strategy provides significant cost savings!

Great to have David Ginder attend the Vertiv AI Roadshow on behalf of Acculon! https://lnkd.in/e5xV5FFV
Director of Engineering | 40+ years of battery expertise | Space battery systems|Energy storage systems | Lithium-ion | Sodium-Ion | Global compliance, testing, and validation | Fire suppression
I attended the Vertiv AI Roadshow last week, had an excellent experience, and here is what I learned as an energy storage expert. AI is creating unprecedented power needs for our data centers. The amount of power needed to accommodate data centers in the age of AI has quadrupled in 2 years. And it's rising at an exponential rate. Energy storage solutions, specifically UPS and LDES, are essential in data center modernization that is urgently needed to enable the growing energy demand to support widespread AI utilization. It was inspiring to see so many leaders in the field coming together to tackle these critical challenges. As AI continues to reshape the energy landscape, it’s clear that innovative energy storage solutions will play a pivotal role in powering our future. The Vertiv AI Roadshow was a powerful reminder that collaboration is key to building resilient, efficient, and AI-ready infrastructure. Many thanks to Jim Greene and Craig Fisher for taking the time for a one-on-one to discuss the specifics Vertiv is seeing in energy storage challenges for AI data centers.
