"get 5,000 connections with [industry] connections on LinkedIn". Create CLEAR and MEASURABLE expectations for the team and then set standard meetings to inspect what you expect.

Develop three things to maintain sanity around strategic choices 1) 3-6 month ground level operational project plan: Be as detailed as you can be focusing on what are you solving for; steps that will get you there; success criteria; timing and budget. 2) 6-12 month growth plan: develop a growth plan on big ticket items such as people needs, revenue generation, channel strategy, partnerships, product development goals. 3) A three year vision plan - this can be a single page with half a dozen bullets answering the questions around size (revenue and profit), services/product, people, geography, and customers.
