Short answer: Student centric and data driven decisions. This is easier said then done, but as a leader in the institution, you must keep the student learning experience at the highest priority. This means being agile and adopting innovative solutions to reach new or targeted populations of learners. While staff may be resistant to change, they need to be reminded that the learning environment has changed drastically in the past century, and even more drastically in the past decade. Instructors are the keyholders to learning, and as such, must be life-long learners themselves. This includes staying current in Instructional practices and learning theories to best support our current learners.

I disagree with some of this... While iterative development and process improvement strategies are great to include and adopt, being slow to adopt and embrace changes in the rapidly evolving eLearning space will leave you stranded and missing key opportunities to actively engage your learners. I personally belive that you should move forward with eLearning adoptions and innovations as quickly as you possibly can, and rather then being simply a follower of trends with the typical lag of adaptation in education, become an innovator in the space and create a focused team that can lead the charge in your organization and inspire others to meet the evolving needs of learners with new eLearning strategies.
