How can you encourage learners to continue their technical training after the program ends?

Je suis d'accord avec le fait de fixer des objectifs simples et mesurables afin de stimuler l'apprentissage après une formation mais cela aura plus de pertinence si à la clé il ya une validation en vue des objectifs et/ou des compétences évoqués pendant la formation. En ayant en vue cette validation éventuelle cela poussent les apprenants à ne pas se déconnecter totalement et et réviser en vue d'être à hauteur lors de l'évaluation.

Je dis toujours, en début de parcours à mes apprenants. Qu'apprendre, c'est réfléchir. Réfléchir, c'est votre phase préparatoire, avec votre propre liberté créative pour réaliser toute tâche. Donc oser réaliser, résulte obligatoirement sur un sentiment de satisfaction. N'oublions jamais que,: "l'action révèle toujours les atouts". Mon rôle premier de formateur est de les aider à ce révéler.

To encourage learners to continue their technical training after a program, it's essential to blend motivation, accessible resources, and ongoing support. Setting clear, personal goals and providing a roadmap for future learning, including advanced courses and specializations, can be very effective. Offering access to continuous learning resources like self-learning platforms, webinars and workshops, and promoting real-world application of skills through projects are helpful.

One of the things I have been doing after my client conference and training events is to provide both a “channel guide” to my YouTube channel with links to more than 100 videos I have created on email, time and tech management and also a short e-book on Taming the E-mail Beast that also links to my YouTube videos. I provide this as an added benefit for my clients and attendees. I mention these additional resources near the beginning of my session—since I cover many tech tips in Outlook/365 and Gmail/Google Workspace, this relaxes them as they know they can reference the same tips (and more) after the session at their own pace. At the end of the session, I encourage them to use these to make this the start of their learning, not the end.

I feel it is important to provide a roadmap and goals that need to be met to ingrain and advance technical development. Then follow up with accountability success markers that provide statistifaction and gratitude.

Be a buddy by providing yourself support to raise confidence to the learners. When come to practice after learning, learners still need to be sure if what he/she is practicing is according to what he/she has learned. Regardless company has provided tools to support the learners practicing what they have been trained, a buddy who can support to review their practice is essential to raise confident.

A monthly check-in with an accountability partner from the program can make all the difference. Simple and very effective.

Set up learning pods/communities of practice Empowering people to gather and learn from each other by encouraging them to start learning pods or community of practice (CoP)They can define the cadence and intensity on how frequent and how long they will meet. They can also decide in which themes/topics they would like to explore deeper. If you are the team lead/mentor/ facilitator, provide them with adequate resources and connections that can support the CoP in deepening their learning together.

Finish your training with “Next Steps.” They just learned how to do something, give them a way to put that knowledge to use ASAP.

One thing l have found useful is that, everyone learns differently therefore creating a community with hands- on practical world scenario questions or challenges for learners to try their hands on and share insight and experience with like minded learners becomes very useful. Give learners project task to try with flexible options on fellow up and institute some recognition and rewards strategies. Could be as simple as - "Learning A, is recognized for submitting project assignment as requested" and congratulate learner to motivate others to do same.
