While we are all familiar with the classic multi-colored tourmalines of this style from Afghanistan, we almost always see them as singles (whether on or off matrix). When was the last time you saw a cluster, and of good size? This dramatic V-shaped cluster of two crystals is complete all around, front and back. It is just a superb balance of size, shape, geometry, and colors with huge impact on display - quite different from looking at a single "stick" tourmaline of the typical style for this material. As with most large Afghani (or any) tourmalines, it has a few acceptable repairs, one in the middle joint and another with minor restoration at the middle of the slightly larger of these twins (all invisible to the naked eye and detectable only with a UV light). This is from a modern find, just brought to market in 2024. Many of these are so thick, that they need a torch touching them to glow but this; rather, it lights easily, with only minimal backlighting needed to show the true colors within! A gorgeous piece that stands out from others. 426 grams. Comes with a custom lucite base.
