History
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
Dementia Aware Organization
The College Avenue Branch staff completed Dementia Aware Organization Training to learn the basics of dementia and how to create an environment that supports those living with dementia and their care partners as individuals.

Poetry Reading and Book Signing with John Sherman
College Avenue Branch
John Sherman, a writer and photographer whose branch library is College Avenue, will offer a poetry reading in the community room. It is free and open to the public. He will read from his newest and fourth book of poetry, "Fussing A Bit: Poems of My Lives."
Teen Fic Club: Make it "Write"!

Love a story but it didn’t end “right”? Missing some of your favorite characters? Maybe you could write it yourself! The Teen Fic Writing Club is an opportunity for you to hone your craft as a writer, through fanfic writing or creating your own original works!
Storytime at College Avenue - Toddler & Preschool

Children aged 3-5, and their families, are invited to a half-hour of stories, songs, and rhymes, followed by playtime, art, and social time with other families!
