Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, best known for being one half of the beach volleyball dream team that included her and long-time teammate Misty May-Treanor, will be the center of a new documentary, produced by Tribeca Digital Studios and Dick’s Sporting Goods Films.
The film will follow Jennings as she trains for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with her new partner April Ross, while also balancing her personal life as a mother. “I am thrilled to partner with Dick’s and Tribeca as they follow me in my quest to bring home a fourth gold medal,” she said. “Representing my country as an Olympic athlete is an honor I take seriously — but I am the most proud of being a mother, wife and role model to young athletes. I hope my story inspires viewers and provides them a glimpse of how sports have shaped my life.”
Tribeca Digital Studios and Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation won the Outstanding Sports Documentary Emmy for “We Could Be King.” Production on the new film begins this month.
