35 Awr

I watched this series on BritBox. It was included in the listing for 35 Diwrnod (I initially thought it was season 4 of that series, but season 4 is not included for some reason).

This series has the same premise as 35 Diwrnod, but there are 35 hours instead of days. Technically, it's fine. The acting is ok, sets are ok, direction and editing are ok, etc.

As with 35 Diwrnod, most of the characters are pretty unlikeable, but they aren't as over the top awful. It struck me as soap opera-ish, and I wasn't a fan. The storyline felt convoluted, and there were a few too many convenient coincidences. And the ending was terrible.

This series was very uneven in pacing and the plot was full of holes and unlikely coincidences. The ending was rushed and a bit of a train wreck. That said, some of the acting was good and the story had enough twists and surprises to keep me watching. Overall, I found it was worth the time spent, in spite of the flaws.

Such a terrific premise with some of the silliest sub-plot lines I've ever seen. Situations which are simply unbelievable. Much doesn't make sense. Motives are screwy or undeveloped. The first few episodes drag, and last are ridiculous. And an ending so laughable (not in a good way) you're going to want the 8 hours of your life back. The 2 stars are only for excellent acting (despite trite script) and because I love the Welsh language.
