If this music video doesn't give us any spectacular memorable images there's a reason for it: Jon Bon Jovi and his band mates wants us to pay attention and listen carefully to their words and the sounds that goes with it. And they're right with such intent as "Keep the Faith" is one of their most interesting and relevant efforts, a timeless song for all ages.
Director Phil Joanou ("Final Analisys", "U2: Rattle and Hum" gives the visual fashion of the 1990's music videos with many different styles of editing and cinematographic contrasts (black-and-white and colors, always changing each sequence goes by) and we follow the group in between New York walks and electrifying stage performances. The usual presentation that never gets old.
Our connection and interest is entirely devoted to the track and its poignant message, one about life affirming values while dealing with the countless and enormous hardships and battles that life gives us and that no matter what happens the positive bright side that can make us struggle, resist everything without giving up is faith, keep hope and faith alive (and those have nothing to do with religion exclusively).
For some special reason this song keeps coming back to me whenever downer moods start to hit me or when things aren't so well. Then I feel better and light. It simply works, and the clip is just na extra thing. 8/10.
