Australian's mostly hate this show because they don't think that's what they're like :) It's hilarious and well worth watching for both the travel destinations and the humour.
If they laugh so much at their own lame jokes it's a waste of an hour, very sad how lame Aussie shows are becoming, apparently the cruder the better to attract the brainless society that will laugh at anything
Love most of the teams on this show but Kevin and Janetta are SOOOO boring and try so hard to be snobs. It's so disheartening and hard to watch their behaviour. My husband and I travel a lot and have visited most of the countries featured on the show, and more than once on some occasions having travelled business class and budget too. Wish this couple would show some respect for countries they visit and not be so up themselves. Everyone on the show should appreciate the opportunity they've been given by Travel Guides. Absolutely love Kev, Dorian and Teng, Matt and Brett. Stack and Mel and the Fren family. Just love the show - great job keep it up.
It's not hard to understand why views about this series are so extreme, but since when has Reality TV been "real"? Scripted or not, it's definitely edited, and -- for the record -- I'm not Australian but I don't think the series reflects badly on Australians at all. It's often funny, and definitely shows many aspects of wherever they go.
Over the years they mix up the groups from time to time, which is good, because some of the participants are becoming a bit jaded after having been literally everywhere. And I have no sympathy for someone who downgrades a trip because they didn't like the food or said the bed was too hard or you had to drive yourselves. Tough: you signed up for this.
But overall, a terrific concept, well-executed and (in many cases) saves me the time and money of trying to go to those places myself. Love the show.

Love the show and the Fren family but Mrs Fren is getting over the top. Her mouth is always open waiting to laugh and laugh she does very loudly. It is just sounding so very fake. Then there is the oh oh from the two women when they see food or drink. Too fake. Tone it down back to spontaneity. The new girls are too much as well. You've lost the spontaneity of the show. It just seems everyone is waiting to give the comedy but it is falling flat. The show has always been a good laugh as well as seeing new places some of which make me want to go visit but maybe some new blood is needed. Good job.
